Pelendri is a village in the province of Limassol in Cyprus. It is located below the Troodos Mountains, at the western end of Pitsilia. It is located on a hillside, at an altitude of 880 meters above sea level, about 40 kilometers north of the city of Limassol. It borders with the villages of Agios Mama, Trimiklini, Moniatis, Asbestos, Dymes, Potamitissa, Agios Ioannis, Kato Mylos and Zoopigi. Pelendri is one of the most picturesque villages in Cyprus. It retains to a large extent elements of traditional folk architecture. In the village are preserved many traditional houses built with the local gabbro rock, with wooden lintels, beams and wooden doors. In addition, modern buildings have been built in the village. The village is known for its churches and chapels. Today there are five churches: St. John of Lampadist, Archangel Michael, Our Lady of the Catholic Church of St. Mamantos and the Holy Cross (This church is one of the nine churches of the Troodos that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site). In addition, in the village there is the well-known winery Tsiakkas, which produces various products from grapes, including wine and commandaria.
